Sensory Support Swimming Lessons 1-1:30PM

All lessons are overseen by a fully qualified Level 2 Swim instructor

All swimmers will be supported1-1 by NUIG students with experience and training in Autism

Your child's volunteer will contact you prior to the lessons to learn about their preferences, strengths and challenges

You will be asked to fill in a sensory profile at the first lesson that will help us understand your child's sensory needs and make appropriate modifications

we will tailor the supports to each child, available supports include the use of visual schedules, instructional flexibility, toys/reinforcers aligned with your child's interests, wetsuits where appropriate, ear plugs where appropriate, among others.

The first lesson will be an assessment lesson, and the final week will also have an assessment, so you can see the progress your child has made.
